Our safeguarding and fire safety procedures are aligned with best international practice and are regularly reviewed to ensure effectiveness and compliance.

A Safe and Supportive Environment

Safeguarding is a shared responsibility at Themis International Secondary School. All staff members are trained to recognise, respond to, and report safeguarding concerns in a timely and appropriate manner. We uphold the highest standards of safeguarding practice to ensure the safety and wellbeing of every learner.

Safeguarding Policies and Procedures

The school maintains clear, robust, and comprehensive safeguarding policies and procedures to protect learners, uphold professional standards, and ensure all concerns are reported, escalated, and addressed appropriately.

All safeguarding concerns are handled confidentially and sensitively, in line with local regulations and international standards.

Staff Training and Responsibilities

  • All staff receive safeguarding training upon appointment and through regular updates
  • Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) are appointed within the school
  • Staff are required to act immediately on any safeguarding concern

Pupils are also encouraged to speak to a trusted adult if they feel unsafe or worried.

A Secure Learning Environment

Themis International Secondary School maintains high standards of fire safety to protect students, staff, and visitors at all times.

Our fire safety measures include:

  • Clearly marked emergency exits
  • Fire alarms and extinguishers located throughout the campus
  • Regular inspection and maintenance of safety equipment
  • Displayed evacuation routes in all key areas

Fire Drills and Emergency Procedures

  • Fire drills are conducted regularly to ensure students and staff know how to respond calmly and efficiently
  • Clear evacuation procedures are communicated and practiced termly with the support of external agencies.
  • Staff are trained to supervise and account for students during emergencies

Emergency procedures are reviewed periodically to ensure ongoing readiness.

Health, Safety, and Compliance

The school works closely with relevant authorities and follows local safety regulations to ensure compliance with fire and health standards. Risk assessments are conducted, and safety procedures are updated as required.
